SHOOSE LOVE

The SHOOSE LOVE Protject.

The night before Some Kind of Jam 6 I got the idea of creating a community art project. I had recently watched a video about 2012 and at the end of the video beautiful images were shown along with the words, CHOOSE LOVE. I thought it would be cool to make a sign that read CHOOSE LOVE and see how many people I could photograph holding it. Some Kind of Jam 6 was the perfect spot to test it out.

I brought some old cardboard with me and headed out Saturday morning looking for someone to help create our CHOOSE LOVE sign. Daren (seen below) and I stumbled into the Children Arts & Crafts area and asked a couple of them to help us out.

Helen (middle) was all set to pitch in. I asked her if she needed any help spelling the words. She said, “No, I write LOVE a hundred times a day.” She grabbed her brush and began drawing the letter S, which also became the very moment the SHOOSE LOVE project came alive and filled with love.

We photographed people throughout the day - adding to the sign along the way.
